CROWNED!!!

Just a few views of my Pink crown. I used some of my favorite vintage millinery and rhinestone bits and baubles. This one is already spoken for! Let me know if you would like me to make one for you- I love making these!
The Halloween crown is almost done. I`ll have to admit, I love the goulish as well as the glitz and glamor.... This Pink girl has spread her wings.....You`ll see in my next post.

Black and White

I met Shari Baldy in LA at Kim Caldwell`s Moulin Rouge event. When I came home I joined The Fairy Society Academy. I have been looking at the online class to make these crowns and was just waiting to find time to sign up and start! I joined today and these are the frames.
The black one took a life of it`s own so it`ll be a Halloween crown. The white one will be a summer crown. I haven`t decided to keep it white or add an antique finish.
I love this challenge! Check with me later to see the finished results....

A Sweet Gift....

Don`t you just love it when you get LOVE mail? My friend, LuLu Kellogg sent me this Marie cake a few days ago. I love it! It looks good enough to eat! I`ll be displaying it on my cakeplate(that`s another collection) in my kitchen. She looks so regal....

A Little bit of this and that...

I bought this paper mache bird at Michaels and didn`t know when I would do anything with it. So...I took a little bit of this vintage net lace with embroidery.....

A little bit of this wonderful shredded tulle/lace trim from Shea.....A bit of the wallpaper in the background. ....(My favorite vintage wallpaper)....

.....And ALOT of this. My favorite decoupage glue by far! I make the biggest messes but I love to play with paper.....

All the mess and glue to make this "tweet" bird for a special friend. I decoupaged the bird with my vintage wallpaper, while the glue was still very wet, I covered it with the embroidered net lace, cutting the design as I went, then used Shea`s trim and a cut-up blue vintage satin and velvet flower for nesting. I glued everything on top of a plain unstained candlestick that I painted and added a vintage velvet pink bloom just for fun.

Then my husband just simply asked,"Why don`t you just buy her something?" What??? And miss all the fun of creating? He knew the answer all the time!

A Little Doll!.....

This was the sweetest little treasure I found in San Diego while on the bus tour at Kim Caldwell`s Moulin Rouge event! The outside is just as sweet as the inside. Some little Victorian girl loved this doll.....Now It`s time for me to love her too! It`s amazing how something over 100 years old can continue to bring such joy....

Happy Pink Saturday. Beverly`s got alot of pink to share!

A Few New Finds.....

A few new floral hats....I thought I had plenty until I used some on my many unfinished projects. So I`m always on the lookout for these!
A yard of vintage wide trim and the sweetest little slippers. The ruffles caught my eye..

A few new girls in my collection. These are vintage German Chalk half dolls. Don`t you love the over the top make up and tight lips?

And finally a sweet Victorian girl`s dress. My mini mani loves it!

I`m finishing projects and working in my office and little time to treasure hunt...But next weekend is the Nashville Flea Market. I`ll be hunting soon....

Happy Pink Saturday!

I found this sweet hand painted hanger at an antique mall in Kentucky. A pink hanger with little blue birds....The lace just added to the sweetness! Another Pink Saturday and little blue birds add to the happiness of Spring.
Here`s to a happy Pink Spring day!

Pink Saturday.....Bunnies!

These cute little bunnies were made for me last year by Jason Parker Counce. The sweet sisters have a matching dress and apron. I told Jason I wanted a chocolate and vanilla bunny. He uses vintage materials and makes the bodies out of dyed mohair and wools. Aren`t they sweet?

This is the new addition to my bunny family. She came from California from Colleen Moody`s Studio. I think she fits in nicely. I have a large bunny collection hopping all around my house year round. This sweet bunny girl will be sitting pretty in my studio! I`m linking to Beverly`s Pink Saturday....on my sidebar. Pretty pinkness for sure...
