Not Just A Pink Christmas....

The table is set with yes, red, gold, and cream! I am definitely a pink girl and love pink for Christmas, but I have always loved collecting dishes and the Holiday Lenox was my first set I bought. I just ran outside and cut holly from our trees and set the mood with battery candles! Easy peasy.....Now there`s food to cook, late minute wrapping and playing Christmas music.....

There`s always something in the oven this time of year. Mac and cheese and my sweet potatoe casserole are the two staples.
So back to cooking, my family is on their way....
Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

Funky Stockings!

For years we`ve stayed with the traditional needlepoint stockings until several years ago I decided we needed some whimsy for Santa! The old stockings still get hung for the boys and one dog....

My husband`s stocking...It says "Believe." He`s the biggest kid of all at Christmas! I bought this several years ago. It`s fun and funky! He makes sure that I remember it`s his every year! It`s a Krinkles stocking....

This is my stocking... The year I bought this I was into polka dots...This is a Krinkles stocking...Santa better put some green in there!

My Mom`s new stocking several years ago. This is a Krinkles stocking...

One year I decorated Kory`s room with jesters. This was a special stocking that year. Katherine`s Collections...

We still love the traditional needlepoint stockings....These are oldies but goodies! I kept forgetting whose was whose so I tagged each one...

Whether you have funky stockings, traditional needlepoint, or hand made..... Santa`s coming soon to fill them! So let`s hang them up and get ready....

What`s your stocking looking like this year??

Pink Reindeer??

Yep! Just when I thought I had all the pink Christmas I needed, I went to my friend, Jill`s etsy shop and bought these! Aren`t they cute? I love how she embellished them with tiny rhinestone earrings and bling! Just a little pink for Santa to pull his sleigh.
Join me for Pink Saturday. Just go

Open House at Gypsy Moon.....

My friend, Brenda Hawkins had a wonderful Christmas Open House last weekend at her store "Gypsy Moon." She is so good at displays and decor! I bought a few things and had some refreshments while I was there. Did I mention she is also a gourmet cook? She really is a petite Martha Stewart!
Here a few photos of her store. It`s located on the corner of the square in Watertown, Tn. Come and visit her store....it`s worth the trip!

Besides Christmas, Brenda has vintage clothing, hats, antiques and collectibles, and her paper mache`. She is one talented lady and I`m so proud to call her my friend!

Dreaming Of A Pink Christmas....

I`ve been dying trees and wreaths! I finally decided to give it a try. I have been gluing and glittering these pink trees (Of course I dyed them first). I love a Pink Christmas!

This is a plain cream colored bottle brush wreath with plastic ornaments...not so my style. So.....I dyed this one pink!

This one blue...

I still have some glittering and decorating to do. I`m dreaming and creating a Pink Christmas.

What color is your Christmas this year?

Mended Hearts....

How do you mend a "paper clay" heart?? I use precious metal clay (PMC) slip or clay and a syringe. Some I have "painted" clay on other wise known as slip. Others I roll out the clay, use a texture mat, and wrap it around the heart.

I always leave slits and holes to mend so the clay can burn out in the kiln leaving a shell. FUN!!!!!
I use a syringe to stitch the holes and slits. I love making leaves to adorn my hearts!
Of course we have all had a broken heart in our past, but these hearts are fun to create and alot easier to mend!

Not just for Valentine`s Day! I love wearing hearts all year long. I`ll be making these for an upcoming art fair next year. Let me know what you think....

Portrait Pins....

I love collecting Victorian and vintage portrait pins. Some are alot pricier than others, but they all seem to tell a story....
Here is a photo of some pins sitting on my table waiting to become pieces of jewelery and photos of jewelry treasures that make these portraits become a special piece to someone`s vintage jewelry collection....

I especially love the wedding photos and children`s photos. I wonder how these people lived and what they did in their lives. These "adopted" family members seem to come to life when you create art or jewelry with them, don`t you think?

Dracula`s Masquarade Ball.....

Before I surprised my Mom for her Birhday, I bought tickets to Dracula`s Masquarade Ball! How fun... Dracula and his three wives were awesome and so entertaining. Singing, dancing, and a murder mystery! The actors mingled with all the guests and really made you feel part of it all....

A great start to a wonderful Halloween season! Being able to share these memories with my mother and sisters.....Priceless!

Think Pink!!

This is breast cancer awareness month. I have some best friends that have survived it and the month of October just keeps me aware of all the women who have fought and still continue to fight breast cancer.

While I was at Bed Bath and Beyond, I was surrounded by PINK! I can`t think of a better color! What a wonderful idea to purchase something in my favorite color and at the same time contribute to the cure...

I am linking to Beverly`s Pink Saturday... See the pinks and join me in shopping for the cure of breast cancer this month...

Happy Birthday Mom!

Every one who knows my Mom knows she conquered terminal lung cancer.... I surprised her for her 75th birthday with my two sisters flying down and a party! I wanted to celebrate her life and have some close friends and family here....

I wanted to share just a few pictures of the celebration and the fun we had ...

My baby sister, Karen, flew from Texas and my sister, Robin, flew in from Philadelphia. I have some beautiful sisters... I miss them already.

Kathy and Chantal are two of Mom`s friends who came to celebrate. I haven`t seen these two lovelies in quite some time....

Friends, family, food, and fun! That`s what birthdays are all about. My Mom is such a blessings to me. I want to celebrate many more with her!

Happy, Happy Birthday Mom!!
