Pretty Maidens All In A Row.......

I simply love German half dolls. You finds these sewn on pincushions or attached to clothes brushes. I have a few from Japan but they just don`t compare to these lovely faces! I can think of several craft ideas for them. But for now.....I`m enjoying their graceful beauty!

A Lamp With Style.......

A couple of weeks ago I walked into a cold, drafty cluttered antique (junk) store. I had to crawl over all kinds of objects to find this rusty, shabby old lamp. Sitting in a dark corner all by itself, it was calling my name. My husband just looked at me ....but he gets me. I had no idea until I got it home that the base is marble and blown glass. Still, it was rusty... and that shade! It was sitting in the garage and every time I passed it I thought to myself, "What in the world am I going to do with that? Well, today I went to work. I striped the shade (it fell apart) and started cleaning the rust with CLR. Nope, didn`t work. Next I got out the old paint and dry brushed it wherever I saw rust! I saw a lampshade with lace tied around at another store, but it looked like someone cut an old curtain in strips. I wanted to use some laces I`ve just been looking at. So now I`ve tied all the laces and knotted some in between. A little shabby....chic! I plugged it in and crossed my fingers- I couldn`t believe it still worked!

So now I`ll be more careful not to pass by anything that is tattered and torn, rusty and old.... you never know what it might become!

(Maybe I`ll add some crystal prisms or rhinestone dangles just to jazz it up....or not)?

The New Girl In Town.....

I found this miniature dress form right before Christmas. I thought it was pricey so I left it at the antique store. I went back last week and she was still there! I grabbed her and got 10% off.

I even love her backside! Now... what to wear?......

A Marie Makeover......

Before.... A sweet little Marie hand mirror that needed some TLC.....

After...... I used hand- dyed seam binding, a vintage rhinestone strip around the outside, a sweet rhinestone button on the front, (I kept it simple), and finished the back with a 1930`s vintage rhinestone pin, a little ruffle and rhinestone bead..... She`ll be on my guest bath vanity table.

The Perfect Find

I`ve been looking for a vintage hat stand for over a year. Every one I found was labeled NFS (not for sale). While in Dickson, Tenn. Friday I found this beauty at the very last Antique Mall. It was 20% off too!
Oh how I love the hunt and the moment you get to buy the perfect find.....

Now I can display three of my favorite hats any time of the year and the color that fits the season! These are three of my new pinks.
Maybe as I keep hunting I`ll find another one! (Fingers crossed)

Buried Treasure........

Last week my beautiful friend Brenda asked me if I would like to look at her broken rhinestone jewelry she had buried somewhere in a tub. After I picked my jaw up off the ground I said yes!

I went to the Howard Rawlings Antique Mall in Mt. Juliet,Tn. where she has several cases of gorgeous rhinestone jewelry.

I was speechless when I saw all the colors of rhinestones that were in that tub. As I searched through that buried treasure, I found some great beauties for sure. The price was right so I went home with a box full.

If you have a minute, here are some photos of the colors and bling only vintage rhinestones have.....

I found this vintage jewelry box for now to keep this beautiful treasure of clear rhinestones. I`m on the lookout for a pink jewelry box. These make me so happy............

A beautiful Victorian box holds the blue baubles and broaches..........

Another vintage soap box works great to store the black and clear rhinestones.......

A vintage powder box is perfect for my favorite color PINK rhinestones...........

A vintage hinged top french labeled can is perfect for the rubies and emeralds. (red and green rhinestones in the real world).........

A vintage french pharmacy box is perfect for bits and baubles. I love ballerina pins..........

I saved this vintage blue tin for the darker rhinestones of orange and yellow.......

A girl has to have a sweet Victorian chatelaine purse for her diamonds and pearls!.........

I enjoyed sharing my treasures with you. I`ll be putting some necklaces and bracelets in my etsy shop soon.
What a blessing to have a friend like Brenda.
One (wo)man`s junk is another (wo)man`s treasure....Now, I`m off to hunt for more buried treasure~
